Market Surveillance Authority
To implement the German Accessibility Strengthening Act, the federal states have agreed to establish a joint market surveillance authority. This is based on a state treaty providing for the creation of a central body based in Saxony-Anhalt. The authority – expected to be named the “State Market Surveillance Body for the Accessibility of Products and Services” – will in future be responsible for monitoring accessible products and services. Before it can begin its work, the state treaty must still be ratified by the federal states. Once ratification is complete, the details of the market surveillance authority will automatically be included in this accessibility statement.
