4. Data Collection on This Website
Cookies
Our internet pages partly use so-called cookies. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our offering more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are so-called "session cookies". They are automatically deleted after your visit ends. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate automatic deletion of cookies upon closing the browser. If you deactivate cookies, the functionality of this website may be limited.
Cookies that are necessary for carrying out the electronic communication process or for providing certain functions you desire (e.g. shopping cart function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Insofar as consent has been requested (e.g. consent to the storage of cookies), processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent may be withdrawn at any time.
Insofar as other cookies (e.g. cookies for analysing your browsing behaviour) are stored, these are dealt with separately in this privacy policy.
Server Log Files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- Browser type and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Host name of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP address
This data is not combined with data from other sources.
The collection of this data is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website – for this purpose the server log files must be collected.
Contact Form
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact data you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
The processing of this data is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, if your enquiry is related to the fulfilment of a contract or is necessary for carrying out pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), if this has been requested.
The data you enter in the contact form remains with us until you request its deletion, withdraw your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Enquiry by Email, Telephone or Fax
If you contact us by email, telephone or fax, your enquiry, including all resulting personal data (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

In all other cases, processing is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and/or on our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), as we have a legitimate interest in the effective processing of enquiries addressed to us.
The data you send to us via contact enquiries remains with us until you request its deletion, withdraw your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been fully processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.
5. Analytics Tools and Advertising
Google Analytics
This website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies". These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA.
The storage of Google Analytics cookies and the use of this analytics tool are based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising. Insofar as consent has been requested (e.g. consent to the storage of cookies), processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent may be withdrawn at any time.
IP Anonymisation
We have activated the IP anonymisation function on this website. This means your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area prior to transmission to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services relating to website and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.
Browser Plugin
You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser software accordingly; however, we point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
Objection to Data Collection
You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set, which prevents the collection of your data on future visits to this website: Disable Google Analytics.
More information on how Google handles user data can be found in Google's privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
Data Processing Agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
Demographic Characteristics in Google Analytics
This website uses the "demographic characteristics" function of Google Analytics. This makes it possible to generate reports containing statements about the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising by Google as well as from visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time via the ad settings in your Google account, or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described under "Objection to Data Collection".
Retention Period
Data stored by Google at the user and event level that is linked to cookies, user identifiers (e.g. user ID), or advertising IDs (e.g. DoubleClick cookies, Android advertising ID) is anonymised or deleted after 14 months. Details can be found at the following link: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7667196?hl=de
Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking
This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising programme of Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
As part of Google AdWords, we use so-called conversion tracking. When you click on an ad served by Google, a cookie for conversion tracking is set. These cookies are small text files that the internet browser stores on the user's computer. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification of users. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognise that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page.
Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. The cookies cannot be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that personally identifies users. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can object to this use by easily deactivating the Google conversion tracking cookie via your internet browser under user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.
The storage of "conversion cookies" and the use of this tracking tool are based on Art.
Further information on Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking can be found in Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate automatic deletion of cookies upon closing the browser. If you deactivate cookies, the functionality of this website may be limited.

Google Web Fonts
This site uses so-called web fonts provided by Google for the uniform display of fonts. The Google Fonts are installed locally. No connection to Google servers takes place in this regard.
Adobe Fonts
This website uses web fonts from Adobe for the uniform display of certain fonts. The provider is Adobe Systems Incorporated, 345 Park Avenue, San Jose, CA 95110-2704, USA (Adobe).

According to Adobe, no cookies are stored when providing the fonts.
Adobe holds a certification under the EU-US Privacy Shield. The Privacy Shield is an agreement between the United States of America and the European Union intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards. Further information can be found at: https://www.adobe.com/de/privacy/eudatatransfers.html.

Google reCAPTCHA
We use "Google reCAPTCHA" (hereinafter "reCAPTCHA") on this website. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
The purpose of reCAPTCHA is to check whether data entry on this website (e.g. in a contact form) is being made by a human or by an automated program. For this purpose, reCAPTCHA analyses the behaviour of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, time the website visitor spends on the website, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google.
The reCAPTCHA analyses run entirely in the background. Website visitors are not informed that an analysis is taking place.
Data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its website offerings from abusive automated spying and from spam.
Further information on Google reCAPTCHA can be found in Google's privacy policy and Google's terms of use at the following links: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de and https://policies.google.com/terms?hl=de.
7. Our Own Services
Handling of Applicant Data
We offer you the opportunity to apply to us (e.g. by email, post, or via an online application form). Below we inform you about the scope, purpose and use of your personal data collected during the application process. We assure you that the collection, processing and use of your data takes place in accordance with applicable data protection law and all other statutory provisions, and that your data is treated with strict confidentiality.
Scope and Purpose of Data Collection
If you send us an application, we process your associated personal data (e.g. contact and communication data, application documents, notes made during interviews, etc.) to the extent necessary to decide on the establishment of an employment relationship. The legal basis for this is Section 26 of the new German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG-neu) under German law (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (general contract initiation) and – if you have given consent – Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent may be withdrawn at any time. Your personal data is disclosed within our company exclusively to persons involved in processing your application.
If the application is successful, the data you submitted will be stored in our data processing systems on the basis of Section 26 BDSG-neu and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for the purpose of carrying out the employment relationship.
Retention Period of the Data
If we are unable to offer you a position, you decline a job offer, or you withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you submitted on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for up to 6 months from the end of the application process (rejection or withdrawal of the application). The data will then be deleted and the physical application documents destroyed. Retention serves in particular evidentiary purposes in the event of a legal dispute. If it is apparent that the data will be required after expiry of the 6-month period (e.g. due to an impending or pending legal dispute), deletion will only take place once the purpose for further retention no longer applies.
Longer retention may also take place if you have given corresponding consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) or if statutory retention obligations preclude deletion.
